Founded in 2017 in Florence, the Machiavelli Foundation (until 2025 known as the “Machiavelli Center for Political and Strategic Studies”) is Italy’s national think tank.
Guided by traditional principles and patriotism, we develop bold, innovative solutions to safeguard the public good and national security amid the unprecedented challenges of the 21st century.
Our mission, in the spirit of Niccolò Machiavelli, is clear: to build a bridge between thought and action, between analysts and decision-makers, with the national interest as our guiding light.
The Machiavelli Foundation focuses on:

PARTNERSHIP
THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION
On March 24, 2023, the Heritage Foundation and the Machiavelli Foundation signed a collaboration agreement to jointly organize events and conduct research, with the aim of strengthening ties between Italy and the United States.
Based in Washington, D.C., the Heritage Foundation develops and promotes policies rooted in individual liberty, traditional values, and strong national defense. Active for over 50 years, it is widely regarded as one of the most influential think tanks in the United States and globally.
Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security
On March 31, 2025, the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS) and the Machiavelli Foundation agreed to collaborate in order to enhance military and security cooperation between Italy and Israel.
JISS is an independent research institute focused on policy-oriented studies. Founded in 2017, it has quickly established itself as one of Israel’s most influential and authoritative centers for strategic thought.
ALAPJOGOKERT KOZPONT
On October 16, 2023, Alapjogokert Kozpont and the Machiavelli Foundation signed a statement of intent to coordinate their efforts toward strengthening Europe.
The Center for Fundamental Rights, based in Budapest, has been studying the optimal balance between individual rights and societal interests since 2013. Among its flagship initiatives is the organization of CPAC Hungary.
OECONOMUS GAZDASAGKUTATO ALAPITVANY
On October 16, 2023, Oeconomus Gazdasagkutato Alapitvany and the Machiavelli Foundation signed a statement of intent to coordinate their efforts toward strengthening Europe. The Oeconomus Economic Research Foundation, based in Budapest, analyzes economic processes and the most pressing challenges facing Hungary and Europe.
